Leucoderma is a menace not only to the Persons suffering with it but also to the physicians.
Any preparations with Psoralia cordifolia acts quite impressively in cases of Leucoderma, due to its irritability.
It is certainly a yapya disease, and when patient stops the medication the relapse of the patches occurs.
As of the formation of pigmentation iot usually starts at the central zone of the hypo-pigmentd patch and then spraeds to the peripheral zone. The rate of completion in formin the pigments in the affected area differs from person to person as per my observation.
In vataja dominant persons it is moderate, in kaphaja is slow and pittaja it is fast.
Eventhough it is fast acting in Pittaja perons in enhancing the pigmentation process, at the same time it is also quick enough to cause allergic reactions in the form of rashes resembling the urticaria when subjected to alonger duration of it's partake internally. Sometimes the allergic reaction may be severe in the form of angio-oedema of lips or face too.
Last but not the least, the person suffering from Leucoderma fgrequently changes the physicians in quest of quicker relief and finally lose his hopes and discontinues the treatment in majority of cases, which is another practical difficulty to be faced by the physicians.
When it affects the structures of Lips,Genital organs and palms or soles, it is quite perfect with the words of our Acharyas who have stated to be Asadhya. No matter what so ever combinations you try in the patient, it remains incurable. And beware the risk of angio-oedema is more in case of the above said soft parts of the human body.
I can't claim that I had been successful in eliminating the leucodermal patches in my patients. The percebntage of success remains to be just 2% with regards to Leucoderma from the quarters of my experience.
