Hepatitis B is amajor medical problem to world .chronic asymptomatic stage also pose challenge to the physician.HB is said to be100times more infective than the AIDS and results approximatly one million death occers in every years,Itis worlds tenth leading causes death.It is typically transmited parentally or by  sexual contact with infected person,infected needle,blood &blood products.blood&blood products is most common carries HBV.The virus has been also found  in vaginal secretions,semen ,urine,saliva&faeces.The onset of infection is insidious.Most of patient having chronic HBV infection or asymptomatic&have normal levels of liver enzymes.These pt.seem to be tolerate to the virus, how ever hepatic inflamtion&liver damage.Increses the risk of developing hepatocellular carcinoma may 10-39% of CHBV patient.Theraputic measur is use  anti viral&immunomodular drug.the efect of these drug is minimum&complication also.

According to ayurved these conditions come under the RAKTAVAHA SROTOVIKAR&especialy affect the raktavaha srotomule that is  yakrit(Liver).Kamala is diseas of raktavaha srotus.Virechan is said to be best line of management for raktavaha srotovikar,henc virechan should be for shodhan purpose&further hepatoprotective drug was selected for shaman purposes.

TREATMENT-(a) virechan-*snehan-panchtikt ghrut,vasa ghrut,katukadya ghrut ,early morning,empaty stomach with hot water(acco.to physician also)

*dose-30,60,90,120,150,180,210 ml.(5-7day)

after attain the samyak snigdh lakshans pt.wear treated with swead karm after sarvang abhyang with medicated oil during rest period(2days after snehan)

*Virechan dravya-acco. to physician,as singl dose,early in the morninge&empaty stomach.after abhyang &swead&in this way pt. wear detoxified.this kind of purification thearapy was done once in month 4-6consecutive cycle.

*MEDICINE -(A) punarnava swaras or punarnava ark -30to50 ml.tds

(B)punarnava mandoor -3g+ras sindoor-2g+pravalpanchmrit-3g+sitopaladi 25g+bhooamalki-25g(30dose for 10days)with honey tds atleast 3month

(C) shiva or trifla tab-3hs with hot water
